Homes for sale prices are rising in the Charlotte area. In the last 10 years, the Population grew 22% and housing units grew by only 14%, so it made prices rise to meet the demands. The reason for the growth is still the lower cost of living in the area. North Carolina has been a place that the job market has grown rapidly because of all the companies that have relocated here. Jobs, and people looking for retirement areas are moving to the area have increased. Now, people moving to the area should to expect to pay more for their homes than they would have 10 years ago. Homes and real estate prices have increased about 5% per year. There are still lower priced homes, but they are located in areas further from the Charlotte/Mecklenburg area. The Charlotte area growth includes at least 8 counties surrounding Charlotte. All kinds of senior living possibilities have grown rapidly as well from the active 55 Plus Communities to the Senior care facilities and Hospitals in the area as well.
